10 Technologies That Are Separating from Us in 2019

In 2018, we enjoyed a lot of extraodinary technology. Various technological innovations were introduced to facilitate our lives and support productivity. The growing popularity of Always-Connected PC (ACPC) is also a 'heritage' 2018 that we will enjoy in the years to come. However, as always, technology or services that do not get cosumers' attention with a heavy heart will be retired, because the ultimate goal of these technology companies is profit, not just creating differences in human life. In 2019, we will see a number of technologies will soon pass. What are they? Here are 10 of them!

1.Windows 10 Mobile

Previously promised by Microsoft that they will provide support to Lumia 950, the last flagship released officially by Microsoft in 2015, for five years. So we can expect support until 2020 for this device. Unfortunately, Microsoft seems to be 'trimming' the support time a bit. Posting a senior Microsoft executive, Nawzil Nejeeb, on Facebook, stated that Microsoft will provide support for Windows 10 Mobile only until Desember 2019 - with a small note that 'this might be extended'.

2.Windows HomeGroup

Microsoft first launched the Windows HomeGroup along with the release of Windows 7 in 2009. HomeGroup gives users a way to share libraries and devices with others in the network through a LAN system.

In August 2018 ago, this technology was declared to have stopped support even though it could still be used. If you use Windows 10 build 1803 and above, you will not be able to access this feature again.

3.Facebook Friend List Feed

This Facebook feature allows you to see feeds from certain groups of friends without needing to navigate to their respective walls. Facebook stopped this official feature on 9 August 2018 ago.

4.Google Inbox

Google Inbox: Is This the Sophisticated Email in the Future?

Along with a major upgrade to Gmail some time ago, Google also announced the cessation of Google Inbox services, a feature of sophisticated inboxes equipped with AI to help filter user emails, as well as several other features. Google plans to make this feature offline starting in March 2019.

5.Google Plus

End of Google+: Now broke into Photos, Streams, and Hangouts

Google Plus was launched by Google with the aim of competing with Facebook. Even though it provides great support for Google's 'social media', in the end the user determines. Not many people are interested in Google Plus, and finally makes Google take the decision to stop this services in April 2019.

6.Yahoo Messenger

This is the first batch of instant messenger that might be popular with baby boomers and millennials who were born exactly in 2000. In its heyday, Yahoo Messenger offered live chat, file transfer, video calls, chat rooms that could be followed by several people, and intergration with other Yahoo services. However, it seems that the various problems at Yahoo and their lack of rensponsiveness in balancing the wave of instant messengers such as WhatsApp, Messenger, Line, KakaoTalk, and so on, finally made this application quiet users.

7.Google's Unlimited Video Storage

Just recently, I realized how convenient Google Photos is for backing up my pics. You get unlimited storage for photos up to 16 megapixels and 1080p for videos.(You get around 8Gb(?) storage limit for higher resolution photos and videos) You can even backup your RAW files there.

Google often offers unlimited storage of photos and videos to users as long as we want to allow Google to compress files and other agreements. At the end of 2018, Google introduced serveral restrictions. Only videos in MPG, MOD, MMV, TOD, WMV, ASF, AVI, DIVX, MOV, M4V, 3GP, 3G2, MP4, M2T, M2TS, MTS, and MKV formats are free, while others have to pay or may only be stored according to owned Google Drive limit.

In 2019, the service will change to unlimited. You have to follow GDrive's limits in saving videos.

8.Android Nearby Notification

Nearby Notification that Google introduced three years ago did not last. This service provides notifications with helpful local information. But unfortunately Android users hate this service because it is considered spamming. Finally Google decided to close the service on December 6,2019.

9.YouTube Video Annotation

YouTube Video Annotation is one feature that is not liked by YouTube users because it is very annoying. This is a small text box that allows creators to link the video they are watching to another video. But there are rarely those who pay attention to this feature, even often considered annoying. Google announced that this feature will no longer be active starting January 15,2019

10.iPhone SE

iPhone SE was launched together with the iPhone 6S in 2016. Intended as a budget phone, this device may be the only 'cheap iPhone' (althought it costs USD 400, quite expensive for a smartphone) that Apple fans receive in general. Even until it was announced that the iPhone SE was discontinued and there would be no further SE projects, many missed this device form factor.
